My name is Andreea BECA, and I am recently the author of this culinary blog.
Graduating from a Faculty of Letters (German-English), I started my professional activity in a German-Austrian retail company, dealing mainly with translations. However, I found out very soon that I was not passionate about this job, so I made a significant change by accepting the challenge of working in a completely new field for me: financial consulting. Even if at first, it was very difficult for me to adapt to the new field for which I did not have the necessary training, gradually, I started to like it. I
did specialization courses in accounting and finance, then I did an MBA, for which I was even the head of graduation :). But something told me that I had not yet found my purpose and, even with all the good results, I did not feel fulfilled. The crisis came, financial consulting was no longer working, so I chose to return to retail, initially as a Development Project Manager, and then as a Development Department Manager.
All this until a year ago when, also determined by the changes the company had gone through – following a takeover, the company’s values were totally changed to the extent that they no longer corresponded to the values and principles I believe in – I decided that the time had come again for a major change. So I resigned, leaving behind a grandfatherly salary, a car and other corporate benefits, to go “to the pot”. I realized that my greatest passion, the only way I express myself creatively, is gastronomy and I decided to do something in this sense.
Thus, I started school again, this time for chefs, and I decided to open a small Bistro with healthy food both in terms of the raw materials used (without semi-prepared foods, synthetic preservatives and other harmful chemicals) but also in the way thermal preparation (no frying, only steam bath, oven, grill). In order to perfect my knowledge acquired through self-education in the field of nutrition, I also followed a specialized course, after which I obtained the nutritionist technician diploma.
Everything is fine and dandy so far, but in order to start a business, apart from a feasible concept, ambition and good intentions, you also need financing – very difficult to obtain as a start-up, I was to find out after the discussion with many banks – so I decided to participate in 2 non-refundable financing programs addressed to young entrepreneurs. I worked for several months on the preparation of the business plan, I submitted the documentation, and after a year of fighting with the bureaucracy, I managed to obtain the final approvals :). I am currently looking for the perfect location for my Bistro, I will let you know as soon as I rent the space and establish the official opening.
Until then, however, I decided to start this culinary blog in which I can share with others the idea of a healthy diet through specially adapted recipes, which will appeal through taste, appearance and nutritional qualities.
